THE Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias today he welcomed to the ministry the MEP and a member of the Security and Defense Committee and his budget committee European parliament, Nikola Farantouri.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in European security and defense in the context of the European strategy Rearmuu. Mr Farantouris informed the Minister on the consultations on the SAFE Council Regulation Plan and the positions and objections of the European Parliament, both on the substance and the process of adopting the regulation.
Developments around the participation of third countries in European defense programs, additional funding tools and the EU’s next multiannual fiscal framework (MFF), as well as the negative possibility of Turkey in the new architecture promoted by specific circles and Member States, were also discussed.
The meeting took place in a climate of synonymous with the major challenges of the country and the EU in the field of defense and security and with a common belief that the new European Security and Defense Archives can only be countries that respect and embrace the EU value framework.
