Consent is not a separate application, but a service available through Gov.gr and Gov.gr Wallet, facilitating and accelerating a series of procedures and freeing citizens from gathering and presenting digital or literary documents.
The data required are derived through interoperability from public systems.
Specifically, to provide their necessary data to insurance intermediaries, to enter into insurance policies, the following steps are followed:
- Citizens communicate with the insurance intermediary of their choice for the conclusion of a vehicle insurance contract.
- Subsequently, after the mediator records the citizen’s intention to use the new digital service, he calls for basics: VAT, Name and Vehicle Traffic Number.
- Citizens then receive a notification (push notification) to Gov.gr Wallet on their mobile phone, which informs that the disposal of specific information: a vehicle license, a driver’s license and a holder. Alternatively, they receive a link to enter the service on Gov.gr.
- If they wish to continue, they initially provide consent to the “pumping and promotion” of the data, they control and then approve or reject their transmission to the mediator’s information system.
Citizens provide consent to every stage of the process, both for raising their information and for their transmission to the insurance intermediary with whom they wish to work together. The data relate to either the owner, such as VAT, Name, Patron name, Driving License, Date of Birth, Issuing and Power Permit, or the vehicle, such as a sign, ownership, details, full address, framework number, formula, use, manufacturer, cube, trade,
It is worth noting that citizens can already provide their consent to digital pumping and disposing of their data for: (a) the conclusion of a contract and a change of energy provider, (b) the conclusion of a new contract or the change of fixed and mobile telephony, internet and subscription television provider. In the next stage, the CONSENT service will be extended to other transactions of citizens with public and private bodies, including the lease of cars.
The Service was implemented by the National Technology and Research Infrastructure Network (EYDITE SA – GRnet), a body of the Ministry of Digital Governance, while the required data is drawn through the Interoperability Center of the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Government.
