Never the administration of OPECEPE intervened, obstruct, guided or reacted to the audits of yesterday (19/5/25), by police scales in the organization’s archive, following a prosecution. OPECEPE said in a statement in response to a statement issued by the European Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO).
As the European Public Prosecutor’s Office points out, among other things, “gathering digital data at OPEKEPE headquarters has proved to be particularly difficult and delayed significantly until 4:00 this morning”.
The Organization for Payment and Control of Social Aid and Guarantees (OPEKEPE) states that “the instructions to the employees were to provide all the information requested by the audit authorities, as they did”. He stresses that “all of the organization’s employees, who were called upon to assist in police investigations, remained tirelessly in their posts from the time of their work at 07.30 am to 04.00 in the morning of the following day, by providing every item you were askedto complete the police project ”.
Concerning the duration of the checks, which were completed at 4am, OPEKEPE points out that this was “due to a number of data, volume of data and files required”.
As he adds, “at the end of the audit, the heads of the police scales, in the presence of witnesses, thanked both the President of the Organization, Mr. Nikolaos Salata and the Director General, Mr. Ioannis Hatzis, for the cooperation of their own and their officials. After all, the spirit of cooperation shown by the organization’s administration and its executives was reflected much earlier in the Agency’s 19th 2025 press release. “
“So, in order to restore the truth and to protect the prestige of OPECE, its administration and the officials who cooperated with the police authorities, we call on the European Prosecutor to confirm his words, to name which officials of the Agency and how they did not work or obstruct the work of the policeotherwise immediately reconstruct the May 20 press release on the above listed, which we point out, as they do not respond to the truth, ”OPECEPE stresses and concludes:
“The only objective of the new administration of the Organization is to fully restore the credibility of the OPECE, the only accredited European Agricultural Funds Management Body (EGTE & EGTAA), for approximately EUR 3 billion and for each of the amount of approximately 3 billion euros. They are investigated in depth and to give responsibilities where they arise, regardless of hierarchical level ”.
