The conversion of the former PIKPA Daphne into a nurseries, a project necessary in the area with a total budget of € 1.9 million, which will be entirely funded by the Attica Region after the program contract signed by the Attica Regional Governor, was launched in the area with a total budget of € 1.9 million. The contract was signed by the Mayor of Daphne – Ymittos, Nikolaos Tsilifis and the President of the Local Government Development Organization “New Metropolitan Attica SA” Dimitris Frangakis, whose carrier will undertake the implementation of the reconstruction, with a time of completion of 50 months.
The new 81 -seater capacity (31 infants and 50 infants), on a plot of 1,488.98 sqm.it will provide improvement in the conditions of children’s living and living conditions, as well as economic relief to low -income citizens.
The project concerns:
- Reconstruction of the existing two -storey with an underground building
- Small -scale additions by extension (29.08 sqm on the ground floor and 14.33 sqm on the first floor)
- Internal interventions (changing floors, doors, windows, hygiene species, duplicate glazing in all openings)
- Upgrading of electrical and hydraulic installations, as well as central heating and air conditioning
- Installation of lift and disabled ramp, necessary for full operation of the station
- Painting the outer facades of the building
- Configuration of the backyard and playground.
As the Regional Governor N. Chardalias pointed out: “With plan, vision and actions, we continue to invest in projects with a strong social footprint, which essentially improve the daily lives of citizens and support vulnerable social groups. The new kindergarten in Daphne, which we are fully implementing with the same resources of the Region, is an important intervention for young families, who are unable to meet daily financial obligations. It is a project that is not only about infrastructure, but the essence of social policy. We ensure safe, functional and modern spaces for our children, support working parents, and enhance social cohesion on urban fabric. The Region of Attica is and will remain next to the citizens with actions and works of substance, not in words. Our goal is to facilitate working mothers so that they can be unhindered or stayed in the labor market, but also to provide support to sensitive social groups, such as low -income families and single parent families. “
