One of the 11 prisoners who escaped from prison has already been arrested.
“Early this morning we were informed that about 11 people had escaped” from a city prison, said Christopher Goudi, a local police official, at a press conference.
“All suspects are considered armed and dangerous,” he warned.
One of the escapees was arrested in the morning in the historic city center, Louisiana’s state police said, adding that “the investigation is ongoing for the rest”.
According to local media, some of the fugitives are accused of killings.
