In a series of questions about government work, the Deputy Minister replied to the Prime Minister and a government spokesman Paul Marinakisin the 2nd “Briefing for Citizens”.
“Until the end of the year all HEIs will have a controlled entry system,” the government spokesman said in response to a question about universities and detailed measures the government has taken to tackle violence at HEIs.
The questions posed by the citizens via Instagram concerned – to a large extent – to university security measures. There were also questions about the initiatives on the demographic issue, political benefits, the possibility of early elections, festivals and more. He also revealed the most use of the issues on which he clicks out of politics. For the first time, he categorically said that in a question “forbidden to answer” …

In detail, the questions and answers to briefing for citizens:
-I have attended a meeting in Parliament once. I want to come back …
First congratulations. Very important, to participate in the political life of the place, in any way that each of us chooses. There are two ways: either with a special entrance, which can be given by each parliamentary group if one wants to go individually to attend a meeting in the House. If we are talking about school or club again, there is a special platform to apply.
-Does the Roma get bonuses without criteria?
To begin with, the criteria for benefits are the same for all Greek citizens and for any beneficiary of the allowance. Now, what we have done as a government, in particular, is for the child allowance, there must be a real attendance at school so that one can get it.
-When will the audit and entry card apply to HEIs?
Universities must have updated and completed by the end of July all the security plans for which they were required by 2021, and by the end of the year they should have completed the installation of the controlled entry system.
-Is it possible to check whether or not to enter the university?
Yes, I understand that in our country where some things we have confused, we have to discuss it. That is – because I hear the criticism of the well -known opposition parties – to enter the offices of any party, from those of the Left mainly, opposing this self -evident move, are you going? “You’re like hello, I came?” Do you go to any floor you want? No, obviously. Take a test to find out. This is also the case in all civilized states in the world. I was young and old, I know it, but at some point we have to solve them too.
-I am a freelancer in Pieria and I work on tourism. We are facing lack of staff. Can it be piloted in a law, even for a semester instead of an unemployment benefit, a job allowance is given?
Interesting is the question from the Lord who is a freelancer in Pieria. Let us first say that we have reduced insurance contributions by 5.4% and in particular to overtime, night work. To say, there is the Jobmatch platform, which is a very important platform, a good tool for small and medium -sized businesses.
Now, for the core of the question. We made very significant changes to the unemployment benefit, because – as the Lord rightly points out in his question – it was a bit paradoxical for the state to subsidize unemployment so much, as unemployment decreases, because once there was a great need. So the conditions are far more stringent. The unemployment benefit is much more targeted. Its circumference is smaller, and that is precisely the goal of the government. Now, let’s subsidize work much more. Alas, after all, if that wasn’t the goal, when we had the highest reduction in unemployment than any other country in Europe.
-Could the transposition process be digitized?
Here we have a proposal – an idea to digitize the Transport Service. Well, we have succeeded in about six years and have digitized over 2,000 services. So now we have taken out the evaluation service by the citizens (axiologisi.ypes.gov.gr via gov.gr). Among those we can do in this process is the following: We can suggest what other services we want to digitize. So, yes, we want even more such suggestions for even more services that will be digitized.
-Why is there a ban on mobility for health care (administrative) due to Covid, while there is no (pandemic)?
The removal of the suspension requires a joint ministerial decision between the relevant ministries. What I can answer, especially for the question of the lady who is asking, is that the Ministry of Health’s service secretary is preparing to be partially removed between the Ministry of Health and the Central of the Ministry of Health.
-Will the barbecues at festivals be allowed now?
It is never possible to legislate or at least I could announce this thing, to go to the festivals without being able to eat skewers and have no barbecues. To know, this has not been legislated. Nothing has changed that has to do with the festivals. There are some provisions, earlier, with rules of civil protection in general for urban and suburban areas. But no, there is no such decision, nor such law has changed, nor will we change anything about barbecues and festivals.
-What are the measures you will take for universities on violence?
Most questions – and it is reasonable – are about the measures we want to implement in addition to universities. Hold, briefly, the following:
First, automated sentences. Is he prosecuted, because they caught you doing something that has to do with physical integrity or threat of life in the university space and are you a student? Automably, for two years of suspension of student status. Did you convince themselves irrevocably? Definitive deletion.
Second. Did you break them? Did you cause some damage? You will pay for you and not all of us. Didn’t you pay? It will come to your VAT ID, pay it from there.
Thirdly, universities, the Rector’s authorities must be consistent in their obligations, otherwise there are disciplinary sanctions. We are all on the same page, but the rules exist to be respected.
And, of course, because there is a dimension of justice, with initiatives taken by the Ministry of Justice, hearing such cases of violence in universities as a priority. Our path was shown by the fastest, now, trial of violence on the stadiums and domestic violence.
-For the subject of demographic. What moves to expect from the government?
And of course it is a huge problem with demographic and is not solved from day to day. But I think we are the government, which has done a lot and has to do more. Let’s go see them very quickly.
First, we introduced the birth allowance. Initially we went to 2,000 euros for each child. And we increased it up to 3,500 euros, depending on how many children each family has.
We have increased maternity leave from 6 to 9 months. At the same time, we also increased the maternity allowance. Until recently you took it for a month, below 1,000 euros, and now you take it for 9 months and equals the minimum wage. It applies to both unemployed and freelancers and farmers, new mothers.
We follow a policy of no child outside the kindergarten, constantly increasing funding for the relevant vouchers. We increased the tax -free of 1,000 euros for each family with a child. We reduced VAT on baby species from 24% to 13%.
There are many more, which I can mention and so much to do. It is a very big and very important battle, the limitation of the consequences of demographics.
The National Action Plan to address demographics has more than 100 actions, which specialize in five axes. I don’t want to tire you out with them. Let me tell you that yes, we have taken steps. It’s a very serious issue. We have to do more and we must all be together and all together.
… And a few questions – answers that are not related to government work:
-Why not in the autumn elections? I find the surprise right choice …
Here we are told to have elections in September. Elections will take place in 2027. This is not discussed. We have answered it. The prime minister has answered this.
-What application does you eat most of the time?
Which app does me eat most of the time? Now, what can I tell you? Whatsapp. There is no, I think that. Is not discussed.
-The Final for EuroLeague Final…
No, excuse me, this question is forbidden to answer it. We never make predictions before the Final Four.
-What do you “squeeze” on social media, except politics?
Anything that has food, anything that has travel and of course everything about the Euroleague.
