EY Greece and the DefenseDUNT network (an initiative of cooperation between defense industries, universities and research centers in Greece) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (an initiative of cooperation between defense industries, universities and research centers) growth.
At a time when the development of the defense industry is a key priority for Greece, but also for the EE as a whole, securing the necessary human capital with appropriate skills is an important challenge and an opportunity.
The collaboration of EY and the DefenseDunet network aims to educate and enhance human resources in the field of defense, as well as linking the educational programs and the project of the Research and Development Centers (R&D) with the real needs of the Greek Defense Industry.
In this context, the DefenseDunet network will assist in aligning the educational programs of Greek universities with the needs of the defense industry and will enhance common research and development projects.
In addition, it will use the R&D mechanisms of universities, research centers and businesses of the Greek Defense Industry, with the aim of developing domestic and European defense technology, in the context of relevant national and European initiatives, while at the same time increasing the participation of European scientific programs.
EY Greece, in turn, taking advantage of its focus on Learning & Development, as well as the extensive network of partnerships it has developed with leading Greek universities and research institutions, will contribute to the objectives of DefenseduN, and in particular the further development of the Defensedunet. Skills, Reskilling and Upskilling.
At the same time, with the know -how of its teams in the field of security and defense, EY will promote the exchange of experiences and optimal practices and the development of defense -related policies, including access to relevant EU programs.
In addition, through its extensive global network, it will assist in cross -border cooperation, inter alia, through educational programs and the creation of joint ventures between educational and industrial partners in EU Member States.
The Memorandum of Understanding, which was announced on May 8, 2025 as part of the Defea exhibition, was signed by EY Greece CEO George Papadimitriou and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Defncedunet, Anastasios Rosolis.
On the occasion of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, EU CEO George Papadimitriou said: “In an environment of geopolitical instability and fragile balances, the development of the Greek defense industry is a key priority for our country today, but also an important opportunity for the Greek economy.
