Wall Street: Dow Jones marks a jump of 600 units after Trump’s announcement on trade agreement with the United Kingdom

Shares in Wall Streetincreased today Thursday (8.5.2025) following the announcement by US President Donald Trump of a US and US and his UKof the first major agreement hatched after the US began preventive tariffs on most of the planet earlier this year.

Industrial Dow Jones on Wall Street earns 637 points or 1.55%. The S&P 500 rose 1.48% and Nasdaq proceeded by 1.91%. Trump announced the outline of the commercial agreement by the Oval Office with the UK Prime Minister Kir Starmer at an open hearing. A basic 10% duty will remain for the United Kingdom, according to a graph posted on Truth Social Post by Trump.

Trump, however, noted that the 10% duty of the United Kingdom could be at the low end of the agreements with the future countries and said that “some will be much higher because they have huge trade surpluses”. Otherwise, the commercial announcement did not contain much details and nothing was signed during the event.
