Pierrakakis: Changes are coming to the use of digital media to deal with tax evasion

Long -term changes are coming next time to exploit digital media to deal with tax evasion, as announced by the Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakisin his speech last night (5.5.2025), at the 6th International Congress of the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, presenting the government’s policy on the Greek economy.

Specifically, in a post on Facebook, Mr Pierrakakis said that “I had the opportunity to present the economic policy of the Greek government, which aims to effectively support society and create development potential. The mandate given by the citizens in 2019 and 2023 and we are implementing daily, is to constantly give a new impetus to the economy. With fiscal stability, development policies, attraction of investment, support for entrepreneurship and social solidarity.

There is no room for complacency, especially when we know that there are citizens must be supported, bets to be won, problems that need to be resolved reforms that need to be implemented.

However, the recent statement by the IMF Director General that “what is happening in Greece would like to see it happen everywhere” emphatically emphasizes the long route we have gone through until the country comes out of the difficult financial condition.

The distance traveled by the Greek people is a conquest and, at the same time, incentive to continue to build day by day, week by week, month by month.

The utilization of digital media in dealing with tax evasion is a profound story of the success of the Greek state. This is a very big conquest, which should not be lost. And next time you will constantly see major changes in this area.

At the same time, we want to boost the economy by reducing regulatory barriers and bureaucracy. Combined with the utilization of all state resources, we will “give birth” to even greater growth. All of these minor changes are summed up in a much greater quality change. “
