The Minister of Development spoke about transformation of the Greek economy
The message that the new development law creates new jobs for young children and enhances the security of the country has been highlighted by the Minister of Development Takis Theodorikakosspeaking in the 5th OT Forum.
“Our economy needs deep transformation with an emphasis on industry, manufacturing and innovation. Therefore, in the new Development Law we provide aid of one billion euros, creating separate support regimes for the border areas and the counties below 70% of the national average. Our goal is to keep our young people in their place, find good and stable jobs and be able to create their family there, “the Minister of Development said.
At the same time, Mr. Theodorikakos emphasized the importance of absolute transparency in managing the money of the Greek people: “I have a doctrine in my life: transparency everywhere, for everyone and for everything. Especially when it comes to the money of the Greek people, we must be held accountable with complete consistency. We have already identified more than 1,400 investment plans by the 2004 and 2011 development laws, which have never been completed and we have begun the process of recovering half a billion euros. There will be accountability even for the last euro of the Greek taxpayer. “
The Minister of Development placed particular emphasis on creating quality jobs, citing typical examples of businesses that provide high pay, but find it difficult to find staff. “I want our young people to understand that the future is built with work. There is no other way to move on. Productive work must become the first value of every young man, “he noted.
Asked about the cost of living and the housing problem, Mr Theodorikakos said that the government is taking substantial support measures, such as the annual rent allowance, but noting that the real solution to the problem requires a wider shift to a productive model based on resistant economic activities.
