Athens Stock Exchange: Closure with a marginal rise of 0.30% – at 1,731.36 the General Index

Marginal rise by 0.30% was reported in the closure of today’s session (5.5.2025) Athens Shipownerwith his Index to close at 1,731.36 points.

During the meeting on the Athens Stock Exchange, it moved to about 14 points, with a low of 1,718.65 points and a high of 1,732.36 points. Thus, another step was taken towards re -approaching this year’s highs (1,749.90 points), reducing the distance to -1.06%. This year’s performance of the General Price Index of the Athens Stock Exchange is now +17.81%.

Bank shares declined -0.34%, with the sectoral index standing at 1,616.06 points, mainly influenced by Eurobank, which cut a dividend of 0.105 euros per share. The FTSE 25 (high capitalization) recorded a marginal increase of +0.06% to 4,284.82 points, while Mid Cap (medium capitalization) was boosted by +0.83% to 2,592.35 points.

The value of transactions at today’s meeting reached EUR 98.7 million, of which € 1.38 million concerned pre -agreed transactions (packages). Piraeus Bank with € 16.41 million had the lion’s share of the turnover, followed by Eurobank with € 13.95 million and OPAP with € 9.99 million. The total market capitalization is € 120.7 billion. On the dashboard of the Athens Stock Exchange, 62 shares from the total rose, 34 fell, while 26 remained unchanged.

On the front of systemic banks, Eurobank closed -3.11% to 2.49 euros due to a dividend cut. The National Bank won +1.34% to 9,688 euros, Piraeus Bank rose with a positive sign +0.08% to € 5.154, while Alpha Bank remained unchanged at 2.23 euros. The picture is also positive for Bank of Cyprus, which recorded +1.36% to 5.96 euros, approaching its historic high at 6 euros.

In high capitalization, Sarantis rose +4.06% to 13.84 euros. Aegean’s share followed with +2.99% to 12.4 euros and Greece with +2.14% to 1,338 euros. Metlen (+1.88% to EUR 42.18), Helleniq Energy (+1.25% at EUR 7,695), Elvalhalcor (+1.25% at EUR 2.03) and AKTOR (+1.16% at EUR 5,23) rose more than+1%.

In the middle capitalization, Alumil stood out with a rise of +3.2% to 5.16 euros. With a rise of over+2%, the upward share of Kri Kri (+2.58% to 15.92 euros) and ADMIE (+2.08% to 2.94 euros) were increased. HELEX (+1.69% at 5.42 euros), PPA (+1.5% at 40.5 euros, new High High) and Autohellas (+1.05% at 11.6 euros) recorded more than+1%. Intracom Holdings (-1.78% at 3.03 euros) and Thrace (-0.92% at 3.75 euros) were under pressure.
