The president of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Ozgur Ozel, was challenged on Sunday (04.05.2025) outside the Ataturk Cultural Center in the Ataturk Cultural Center in Constantinople.
Ozgur Ozel was attacked in Constantinople shortly after the Curriculum for Kurdish MP Sir Surrey Oder who passed away yesterday.
When Ozel was leaving the ceremony, a man approached him and threw a slap without being able to avoid him. The perpetrator of the attack was shouting “I am a grandson of the Ottomans,” eyewitnesses said.
Ozel immediately protected his safety, he is in good health with the perpetrator moving away.

“I condemn in the most intense way the physical assault on Chp President, Mr. Ozgur Ozel, and express my wishes for passers -by. The perpetrator was identified and arrested. Any action that disturbs social peace and constitutes violence will be legally treated and punished as it deserves, “Interior Minister Ali Gerikia said in a post imposing the arrest of the perpetrator and named.
This attack has sparked strong reactions, and the comment is expected from the CHP.
