Town Planning Ala Greek: License you will not get but brown and psychotropic drugs tired

In Greece, urban planning is not a service. It’s a life experience.
Not for your plans, licenses or development – but to test your nerves, your durability and your faith in the system.

You go for permission and suddenly you find that your plot “has no face”, the building is “almost downhill” and the road in front of you is “designated as a 1952” grassland “. All of this said with a smile, three post-it and a plastic coffee.

The recent Corruption Case in Rhodes – With blackmail, sachets and complaints – it was just an episode yet in the long Greek soap opera title ‘Bureaucracy and passion’.
Because if you have never heard of the phrase “you know where to go to get signature”, you haven’t really built in Greece.

Planning lacks staff, know -how, equipment, sometimes and daylight. But this does not prevent some from “facilitating” cases – as long as they are accompanied by silence and a little dossier.

But the best? NOK.
The new building regulation. Or else: “Cancer”.
Each Yoma interprets him like the zodiac signs: with a mood, a sympathy and what the boss says that week.

The result? Engineers to drink lexanutil with breakfast, citizens to make their cross before entering the service, and investors leave for Serbia.

And while everyone is demanding reforms, the solution looks like a joke:
Others want urban planning in municipalities, others in the ministry, and others just somewhere to work.

As for the digital state? Going. But until a simple license is issued in 10 days without voices, beaches or calls to “known”, we will have a building permit for Mars.
