SEA for Athens Law: “We strongly condemn the exercise of violence”

He strongly condemns the exertion of violence, especially within a university institution in a statement by the Athens Bar Association, after the wild episodes took place last night at the Athens Law School When a group of people with hoods and hoodlum helmets stormed into an event, they stamped teachers and injured a student.

As stated in a relevant announcement:

“On the occasion of recent incidents of unchanged attack and violence at a university institution and targeting a lawyer, the Athens Bar Association feels the need to re -emphasize his standing positions:

1. The Board of Directors of the SAA strongly condemns the exercise of violence, in particular, within a university institution in which they are by definition being moved and must be moved by academic freedom, wherever it is motivated or derived.

2. The lawyer as a co -operator of justice and in the exercise of his duties enjoys complete independence, can never be identified, as much as he is unacceptably targeted because of his client and the nature of the act for which he defends him.

The phenomena as the above are absolutely condemnable, both by the Bar and any citizen in the context of a favored democratic state and a lawyer. “
