In the event of the prices of ferry tickets from today, May 1 was mentioned in his statements by Syros by the Minister of Maritime and Island Policy, Vassilis Kikilias.
“There will be no increase in ferry ticket prices, neither now nor during the summer season. We reduced 50% of the port fees and prices were retained, “he said.
“With safe, good trips to everyone, good seas and we will continue to work in this direction,” the shipping minister said, noting the government’s commitment to support the Greek family and accessibility to the islands.
“We want to ensure that the ability to move from the mainland and the big ports to all our islands is not a luxury, but a right for all,” he said.
It is noted that due to the EU’s obligation to use all ships from May 1st “green” fuel, which is more expensive, the ferry companies had announced from today’s ticket prices by 12% to 15%.
In order to contain prices and not make these increases, the government has reduced port fees by 50%. Thus, the goal has been achieved not to make the increases that would have been in place today.
For example, the individual ferry ticket for the financial position from Piraeus to Heraklion is currently at 41 euros. If tickets were increased by 12%, the passenger in the individual financial position would have to pay 45.92 euros, and if the increase was 15%, the individual ticket would cost 47.15 euros.
Also, a couple from Piraeus to Syros with a return today pay 186 euros for tickets. In the event that increased by 12%, the increase would be 208 euros and 15% to € 214.
