Battle with great fires are still giving firefighters to Israelas the fiery front rages on the outskirts of Jerusalem, although many roads that had been closed were again opened today (01.05.2025).
The fires in Israel broke out yesterday (30.04.2025), Wednesday, along the motorway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, forcing police to block traffic on many main roads and remove thousands of residents.
According to the Fire Service, 163 groups are still operating, backed by 12 firefighters.
Magen David Annom’s ambulance service announced that first aid to 23 people had been given yesterday, most of whom had been burned or inhaled tobacco. Among them were two pregnant women, as were two babies under one year old, according to MDA.
According to the Kan public television network, 17 firefighters have been injured.
Firefighters were fighting throughout the night to control the fire. “All roads have re -opened in circulation,” police said in a statement this morning.

“During the night, dozens of vehicles were lined up all over the country, forming lines to prevent the fire spreading,” the Israeli army said in a statement.

The aviation “continues to participate in efforts to extinguish fires,” the army adds, stating that it also sent about 50 fire trucks to the affected zones.
AFP journalist in Central Israel saw the flames burning forested areas yesterday near the main highway that connects the beetle with Beth Seas, while helicopters were trying to throw the flames with water.
These fires spread rapidly due to high temperatures and strong winds.
