From 2019 until today we are implementing a network of active employment policies that have one goal: to make more fair and productive, with more opportunities, transparency and better incomes the Greek labor market.
Let’s look at over 35 tangible results we have brought to 10 critical fields for the world of work and 3 new goals by 2027.
✅ Reduction of unemployment and stimulating employment
🔴 Reduce unemployment in half at a low 17 -year – 9% in March 2025 from 17.8% in July 2019 (lower unemployment rate than Spain, Finland and Sweden).
🔴 Reduce unemployment of women and young people as well as a record levels in half since July 2019
🔴 greater increase in EU employment (almost three times the EU average) – 69.3% in 2024 from 60.8% in 2019.
🔴 500 thousand new jobs since 2019.
🔴 Abolition of withholding in the drafting of pensioners and increased employment of people aged 55-64 by 13.3 percentage points (more than twice as high as the EU average)-54.1% in 2023 compared to 40.8% in 2018.
🔴 Ability to grant a disability retirement without prior employment interruption – ending in the “state support or work” dilemma for our fellow citizens with disabilities.
🔴 Increased full -time employment to 76.4% in 2024 – 7.2 percentage points above 2019.
✅ wage increases
🔴 Increasing the minimum wage by 35.3% from 2019 – 880 € from 1/4/2025 from 650 € in 2019
🔴 Resetting the service allowance (‘three years’)
🔴 Increase in average wages by 28.3% from 2019 – € 1,342 in 2024 from € 1,046 in 2019.
🔴 Average full -time salary over € 1,470
✅ Digital work card
🔴 Recording the actual working time to ensure employees’ rights and combat abusive practices.
🔴 The measure is already successfully implemented and protects 1,500,000 banks, supermarkets, insurance companies, security companies, DEKO, industry, retailing, catering and tourism.
🔴 Increased overtime declared in the integrated sectors by 815,000 in 2024 compared to the years before the measure is implemented – the increase in some sectors reaches 61%.
✅ Reconciliation of professional and family life
🔴 Expanding the special leave and protection of maternity for 9 months to all E-EFKA insureds and the possibility of transferring to the father for up to 7 months.
🔴 Paternity license for natural, adoptive and foster fathers.
🔴 An allowance for the first two months of parental leave equal to the minimum wage.
🔴 Eimagance of all the rights of new adoptive parents with natural parents.
🔴 Tax exemption of voluntary business benefits in favor of new parents up to € 5,000 for each dependent child.
🔴 Licensing licenses to provide care and for medical examinations related to reproduction.
🔴 Parents’ protection from dismissal due to the exercise of rights related to the balance of professional life.
✅ Strengthening collective agreements
🔴 Modernization of the terms for the expansion of collective agreements.
🔴 Nearly 800 collective contracts in force (sectoral, homosexual and operational) from just 500 in force in 2019.
✅ Public Employment Service programs (DBA)
🔴 Training programs (skills upgrading & upgrading) in high -demand skill skills and emphasis on green and digital skills – 420.274 beneficiaries from 2019.
🔴 subsidized employment programs – 220.255 Beneficiaries from 2019 (61% women, 47% young to 29 years old, 39% long -term unemployed)
🔴 43 days of career in 16 cities by providing employees the opportunity to talk directly with companies – more than 9,000 people have found work through career days.

✅ Intensification of Labor Inspection inspections
🔴 Upgrading the Labor Inspectorate (SEA) to an Independent Labor Inspectorate to ensure its autonomy and enhance its effectiveness.
🔴 79,207 checks, 18,264 penalties and € 49.5 million fines in 2024 (increase 7.6%, 13.8% and 11.4% respectively compared to 2023).
✅ Protection of workers from violence and harassment at work
🔴 Establishment of the protection of workers from violence and harassment at work.
🔴 318 Complaints in Labor Inspectorate in 2024.
✅ Enhance flexibility and protection of vulnerable workers
🔴 For the first time institutionalization of a specific framework for the rules for teleworking and the “right to disconnect”.
🔴 For the first time for the first time of the right to trade unionism, collective bargaining and strikes to working distributors in delivery and courier.
🔴 Establishment of a tax -free threshold of 300 euros from catering tips.
🔴 Identification of new forms of work, by establishing parallel employment and ordering contracts and establishing rules for platform work.
🔴 Possibility for four -day work by employee agreement and employer in the context of working time arrangement.
✅ Increased income and reduce insurance contributions
🔴 Reduce insurance contributions by 5.4 percentage points since 2019, with a planned reduction in half an extra unit in 2027.
🔴 Reduce insurance contributions for overtime, overtime, night employment and employment on holiday days or Sundays.
🔴 Increase the net amount paid to employees and a reduction in non -wage costs for businesses.
🔴 Enhancing overtime transparency and shaping a healthier labor market, with the proper statement of overtime.
We have achieved a lot and at the same time acknowledge that they are still enough to make the Greek labor market converge with the European in employment indicators, income and productivity.

🔴 With emphasis on 4 groups with significant room for improvement of employment (young, women, people with disabilities, elderly) to further reduce unemployment and stimulating employment.
🔴 Our goal is 950 € minimum wage and 1500 € average salary in 2027.
🔴 By the end of the year we will draw up a road map to increase the rate of coverage by collective bargaining, in cooperation with social partners.
