For the fifth consecutive night members of the Armed Forces of India and Pakistan exchanged fire in Kashmir, the Indian army announced today, a week after the crowded attack on tourists who raised the tension between the two neighboring countries.
Like the previous nights, the Indian army reported that Pakistani troops opened fire with slight weapons against his positions along the so -called control line (of the de facto border) in Kashmir.
He added that his men “rewarded the challenge in a measurable and effective way”. New Delhi did not speak of victims. There has not been a confirmation by Islamabad at least as this stage.

India has given Pakistani nationals to leave its territory to date. Analysts are concerned that the increasingly warlike behavior of his government Hindu nationalist Prime Minister Narendra Monti could lead to further escalation.
Kashmir is shared between the two countries after gaining their independence in 1947. Both claim to have sovereign rights in the whole area. Since 1989, battles between separatist guerrillas and the Indian army have claimed the life of tens of thousands of people and have sparked successive waves of cruel repressive measures.
