Stefanos Kasselakis: Fire in the opposition for the tragedy of Tempi – “PASOK is communicating the government”

Spikes against the opposition, focusing on the handling of the Tempe tragedy, was launched by the President of the Democracy Movement, Stefanos Kasselakisspeaking to SKAI TV station.

Mr Kasselakis initially turned his criticism of PASOK, arguing that the necessary change in the country must come from political spaces that are not part of the “system” and do not follow the government line. According to him, PASOK-KINAL’s stance, with the choice of setting up a pre-trial committee for Mr Triantopoulos for breach of duty, suggests that it acts as a “tail” of the New Democracy. On the contrary, he stressed that the Democracy Movement has drawn up an extensive 350 -page indictment, with the assistance of legal and volunteers, covering all the political persons involved in the Tempi case, thus responding to the request of the victims’ families. In this context, the opposition parties for inactivity.

Referring to the inability to promote the case in trial, Mr Kasselakis pointed out Article 86 of the Constitution and the immunity it provides, wondering why the government does not abolish it. He described Mr Triantopoulos’s referral of misdemeanor as inadequate in relation to the abuse of power that is a felony, accusing PASOK of “communicating” the government. He emphasized the need to conflict the opposition with the government.

Concerning the polls and the decline of his party’s percentages against the rise of Freedom Freedom, Mr Kasselakis said he did not agree with the link between Tempes with the polls. He attributed part of the demographic image to “diversions” that took place in the past, expressing optimism that the Democracy Movement will be able to enter the House in the next election, as long as people listen to the party’s positions.

Finally, he raised a question of representation and inspiration by PASOK President Nikos Androulakis, questioning his ability to inspire the youth or sufficiently represent the country internationally, as well as the prospect of SYRIZA to regain its previous rates. He argued that an alternative government program needed to Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Asked about possible cooperation with Zoe Konstantopoulou, she commented that she had the legal knowledge of the position of the Minister of Justice, expressing frustration over her silence on the subject of Tempi and noting that cooperation is judged by actions.
