The establishment of the timeless Museum of Trikala enters the implementation stage after completing the studies funded by its operational development program Ministry of Culture, According to his announcement.

The study on the repair, modernization and conversion of the building into a museum aims to structural and functional upgrading of the existing shell as well as its adaptation to meet the needs of a modern museum. Specifically, it concerns:

The permanent Antiquities Exhibition of the Timeless Museum of Trikala It is projected to grow on the first floor of the building, with a total area of about 580 sq.m. It is organized into three sections, following the structure of the spaces, with the introductory section in the center and two large halls on either side. The design of the exposure does not require structural interventions in the shell.
The converted building is to house the offices of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Trikala on the two upper floors and the required support sites, such as reception, shop, cloakroom, refreshment room, event area, warehouses, maintenance workshops, other auxiliary services.
The main morphological-museographic element, which enhances the sense of topography in the area, are the smallest and largest exhibition constructions, with their geometry reminiscent of the area’s relief, the Plain-Mags and the highest mountainous tumors.

The timeless Museum of Trikala is founded in the building that previously housed the Headquarters and the Brigade of the First Corps of Army, in the camp of “Major Pouliou”, known as Tax.
The construction of the camp, which began in 1929 and was completed after a decade, It is located on the outskirts of Prophet Elias hill, near the traditional settlement of “Varoussi” and under the Byzantine castle of the city. The four -storey building was granted to the Ministry of Culture by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to host the Trikala Museum and its support functions, along with the surrounding area of approximately 4,750 sqm.
Its state of keeping imposed its structural, energy and functional upgrade and securing universal accessibility to people with disabilities. The goal is to meet the modern requirements for its reuse as a museum shell.
