OR National pole of Greece won 13-9 Hungary In the big final of the Chengdu World Cup in China and won a historic gold medal.
With a “ultrasonic” appearance in the final, the Greek national pole of Greece swept Hungary and celebrated the first gold medal of its history in the World Cup. The “blue -white” was imposing throughout the final and reached the top of the event, giving Greece yet another great success.
MVP for our national team was Xenakis, which was excellent in the final, but also throughout the event in China.
The game
The National Women’s Polo of Greece started the match from the beginning and with Pleuritou scoring the first goals, took the lead in the World Cup final. The “blue-white” found answers to every “pressure” of Hungary and closed the first 8 minutes with a 5-4 in favor of it.
In the second 8 minutes, the defenses dominated, with Greece locked up Hungary, but also “marking” the beam of their opponents in many cases. Even so, the Women’s National Pole managed to dominate 1-0 in the second period for 6-4 in the half.
After the respite, Greece appeared even better and, taking a “fire” from afar with Siouti, increased its lead and put Hungary on the … ropes. The Greek team scored 6 goals in the third 8 minutes and found it 12-7, laying the groundwork for the gold medal.
In the fourth and last 8 minutes, the Greek National Women’s Polo Team did not allow Hungary to react substantially, as Jourka made a series of large interventions and cut off the momentum of its opponents. The “blue-white” thus reached an imposing 13-9 victory and became the new World Cup winner in its 7th participation in the event.
