‘Green Light’ took unanimously last night from Central Archaeological Council (KAS) The definitive studies (architecture, static-inquiry and geotechnical) related to the project “Supply and Installation of Publishing People for the Castle of Monemvasiaยป.
According to the architectural study, there will be two stations, the upper and the lower, and only one pillar which will be placed behind the wall of the Upper Town, near the arrival station. The lower station is located at a point that is about 150 m from its entry gate castleof which, according to scholars, will not be visible, and its location will be such that the task is limited and integration into the environment smoothly.
The arrival station (upper) will also be harmoniously integrated from the entrance station about 120 m and will not be visible from land. As scholars pointed out, the whole project will only be visible from the sea, while by land the only visible elements It will be the pillar and the cabins that will be hovering.
The air lift will have two cabins, that will fit 15 people each (10 seated and 5 five stands) or two disabled carriages with their companions or an ambulance stretcher. The cabins will be used by people with disabilities and generally obstructed individuals, as well as for emergencies or for transportation of materials. The distance of 120 m will cover the lift in less than a minute. The project has an implementation time horizon by the end of 2025.
As was also known at the meeting, Along with this project two subprojects are running: The restoration of part of the anodized ancient wall adjacent to the upper station and which is completed, while the browser network is underway In the Upper Town executed by the Ephorate of Antiquities of Laconia and will be linked to the termination of the lounge so that access to people with disabilities or obstructed individuals can be seamless.

For the project, which is funded by the Recovery fund, has been signed Planning Agreement between the Ministry of Culture, of the Municipality of Monemvasia and the Parnon Development Organization.
