‘Pharos’ is one of the first thirteen ‘factories’ Artificial intelligence In Europe and is an initiative of strategic importance, as it enhances competitiveness, the development of reliable applications TN and the promotion of innovation with a view to sustainability. It is a total budget project of € 30 million, implemented under the Horizon Europe program and funded by 50% by EUROHPC (EuroHPC Joint Undertaking) and by 50% of national resources. Its implementation will last 36 months.
In particular, the “factory” TN will provide computational power, advanced TN tools, large volume data and Specialized Human Resources in Startups and small and medium -sized enterprises, academic institutions, research centers and public bodies. In this way, they will be able to develop TN applications in the fields of health, Greek language and culture, as well as sustainable development.
For example:
A research body can use data gathered and anonymized by appropriate methods as well as its computing resources Overcoming “DAIDALOS”, In order to develop personalized medicine applications, such as medical images analysis systems.

A small and medium -sized enterprise can use the “Pharos” tools to analyze satellite data, with the aim of better managing natural resources or timely and more precisely in terms of local disasters.
It is recalled that the new national supercomputer “DAIDALOS” will serve as the AI Factory computing platform. With a total computing power of 89 pflops, a significant proportion of this will be secured for exclusive use from applications TN through “Pharos”.
