In 21 arrests the police have proceeded with a case corruption in urban planning of Halkidiki, as it became known today Tuesday (10.12.24).
According to information, the 21 arrests have been made in the context of a major operation of the Internal Affairs service of the Security Forces which is ongoing and concerns a corruption case.
The town planning of the municipalities Sithonia and Propontidas Halkidiki are, according to information, at the center of the police operation carried out by officers of the Internal Affairs Service of the Security Forces of Northern Greece.
According to his information newsit.grEL.AS identified one million euros in cashwhile the arrests reportedly include one former mayor, 15 individuals and five city planning officialswho allegedly did everything from simple services to issuing fake licenses.
From the above amount, 700,000 euros were found in the homes of the employees while the remaining amount was in the possession of private individuals.
The investigations of the incorruptible members of the EL.AS of Northern Greece were started by last April and little by little they managed to infiltrate the circuit and expose its illegal activity.
The five employees are said to have lived a lavish life while investigations continue into the possible involvement of other individuals.
