From the end of October to early November, the notices are expected to be posted for the traffic charges 2026, while the official deadline time payment It remains December 31, 2025.
Since 2025, a gradual fine has been applied in the event of a delay in payment of the registration fees beyond the prescribed deadline, with a 25% increase if the payment is made in January, 50% if it is made in February and 100% from March onwards.
To find and print the notice, the simplest road is the mycar application through myaadwhere you can also issue a “non -debt” certificate. Alternatively, without codes, you print the fee form by filling in VAT ID, traffic number and year at the Taxisnet ‘Traffic Tax’.
The payment is comfortable through e-banking with the RF code listed in the notice or by scanning the QR via mobile banking. There is also a classic payment in a bank or ELTA bank store. If you are in a SEPA zone country, you can pay with Sepa credit transfer using the payment code.
Calculation of fees depends on the date of first classification.
For vehicles with first classification until 31.10.2010 (and for motorcycles regardless of the year) there is a scale of cube with fixed amounts per category.
For vehicles with first classification 1.11.2010 – 31.12.2020the calculation is made solely on the basis of the Co₂ emissions listed on the license, with prices per gram as follows:
- 0 – 90 g/km zero fees,
- 91 – 100 g/km × 0.90 euros,
- 101 – 120 g/km × 0.98 euros,
- 121 – 140 g/km × 1.20 euros,
- 141 – 160 g/km × 1.85 euros,
- 161 – 180 g/km × 2.45 euros,
- 181 – 200 g/km × 2.78 euros, 201 – 250 g/km × 3.05 euros,
- over 251 g/km × 3.72 euros
For vehicles with first classification from 1/1/2021 onwards the WLTP scale is applied:
- 0 – 122 g/km zero fees,
- 123 – 139 g/km × 0.64 euros,
- 140 – 166 g/km × 0.70 euros,
- 167 – 208 g/km × 0.85 euros,
- 209 – 224 g/km × 1.87 euros,
- 225 – 240 g/km × 2.20 euros,
- 241 – 260 g/km × 2.50 euros,
- 261 – 280 g/km × 2.70 euros, and
- from 281 g/km × 2.85 euros per gram.
If there is no intention of moving the vehicle in 2026, there is a choice of digital immobilization by 31.12.2025 by MyCar so that no confirmation of the end of 2026 is accepted after the deadline is accepted but does not affect the imposition of fees for 2026.
After the electronic statement, plates and license are removed and the vehicle must remain in a closed or fenced area. If a vehicle on immobilized is found to be circulated, an administrative fine of EUR 10,000 (and in a relapse of EUR 30,000) in addition to the fees are imposed.
Conversely, immobilization is lifted for a specific period and is paid “late to the month” through mycar.
There are no changes to the amounts of fees for 2026 compared to 2025.
